Foton Accelerates Global Strategy with Ambitious 2030 Targets at 2026 Partner Conference

Beijing witnessed a significant gathering of over 2,000 participants from 140+ countries at Foton’s 2026 Global Partner Conference, where the commercial vehicle manufacturer unveiled its ambitious roadmap to become a “world-class commercial vehicle enterprise.” Under the theme “Drive To Great,” Foton Chairman Chang Rui announced bold targets: achieving over 50% new energy vehicle sales and 300,000 overseas units annually by 2030.

Global Expansion Through Localized Production
Foton’s globalization strategy centers on establishing more than 10 industrial bases across key markets including Thailand, Indonesia, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and the EU within five years. The company’s recent successes in Brazil and South Africa demonstrate this approach. In Brazil, Foton has localized production of its “New Aumark” light truck, aligning with the country’s green mobility initiatives. Similarly, Foton’s South African CKD plant represents the first Chinese brand to achieve localized assembly in the country, positioning it as a regional manufacturing hub for Africa.

Technology Leadership in New Energy and Intelligence
Executive Vice President Lu Zhenghua outlined Foton’s three-pillar strategy: comprehensive internationalization, new energy adoption, and intelligent solutions. The company’s proprietary AiYiKe electric drive system achieves 97.7% motor efficiency, while its hydrogen fuel cell demonstrations have reached 3,600 vehicles. Foton’s intelligent driving capabilities include Highway Pilot technology and AI-powered cockpits, supported by a telematics platform connecting 3.16 million vehicles that has improved operational efficiency by 10% and reduced accident risk by 40%.

2026 Business Targets and Ecosystem Development
For 2026, Foton targets 200,000 overseas vehicle sales, with heavy trucks growing over 70% and buses doubling in volume. The company plans to cultivate eight markets each exceeding 10,000 units annually. Vice General Manager Liu Xuguang emphasized building an ecosystem around “vehicle + telematics,” expanding into charging infrastructure, leasing, and used vehicle businesses while strengthening global parts warehouse networks.

The conference recognized outstanding partners with awards spanning new product promotion, new energy leadership, and aftermarket excellence, reinforcing Foton’s commitment to collaborative growth in the global commercial vehicle industry.
