Exterior Design
As Volkswagen’s latest global flagship pure electric sedan, ID.7 VIZZION has an original German pedigree, and impresses people with its “shape of freedom” aesthetic design and spacious interior layout.
In the front, ID.7 VIZZION adopts the iconic V-shape front design, with overall clean lines that are not too aggressive and reflect a sense of atmosphere. The light bands that run through the front of the car extend from both sides of the illuminated logo to the headlights, making the front end look wider and more recognizable.
The headlamps of ID.7 VIZZION are inspired by jewelry design, and the perfect diamond-like “cut” proportions of the headlamps make the overall shape crystal clear. Relying on Volkswagen’s unique IQ.Light technology, the 18 high beam LEDs in the 900-lumen matrix LED headlights can be controlled independently, automatically adjusting the brightness based on sensor information, which gives the ID.7 VIZZION an aura of digital life and a strong sense of “dialog” full of emotional interaction. The full-bodied body structure has a sense of power, and the inwardly tightened side skirt shape and the very impactful milled surface sport shaped wheels give the lower part of the body as a whole a sense of stable and solid security. The stance of the body is not combative, but rather gives a down-to-earth feel – it is a Volkswagen, after all.
The short front overhang and appropriately extended rear overhang create a harmonized body proportion.The length, width and height of ID.7 VIZZION are 4956*1862*1537mm, and the wheelbase is 2965mm.
Coming to the rear, the ID.7 VIZZION’s sliding back shape looks very elegant, and the overall rear is slightly square, with the upturned ducktail and black lower surround making it look more dynamic. The tail light adopts 3D Surface LED three-dimensional suspension tail light, the advanced light guide material ensures the uniformity of light emission and brightness, and the whole forms a smooth light-emitting belt, reflecting the sense of science and technology. The modeling adopts a three-layer structure with a sense of rhythm, and the layers light up when the lights are on. The tail lamps offer a variety of lighting animations for more personalized choices. The integrated design is also a highlight of the tail lamps, Volkswagen for the first time adopts the turn signal lamps and position lamps mixed cavity design, the license plate lamp is also integrated into the overall shape.
Interior Design
Entering the car, one can tell at a glance that it is a pure electric model from Volkswagen. The interior design of the ID.7 VIZZION sees the shadow of the previous ID. family, but the changes are still significant. The overall space of the interior emphasizes intelligence, and the difference is reflected everywhere with the penetrating one-piece instrument panel, 15-inch intelligent 2K floating large screen, 30 kinds of multi-color gradient grille ambient lights, and eco-friendly interior materials. The three-spoke steering wheel has a subtle texture and excellent grip, as in other ID. family models.
The instrument panel is integrated with the penetrating air conditioning vents, and although small in size, the information displayed is very simple and intuitive. It is understood that the designers had initially considered eliminating the instrument cluster, but fearing that users would not get used to it, they ended up retaining a very small instrument cluster, with more driving information being arranged on the HUD.
Compared to previous ID.family models, due to changes in the ID.7 VIZZION’s dashboard, the pocket gear can no longer be placed in the upper right of the dashboard, and is now adjusted to the back of the steering wheel, but the operation method remains unchanged, and is still rotary, which reduces the chances of misoperation.
The 15-inch intelligent 2K suspension large screen is currently the largest size screen in the ID. series, using optical full lamination process, screen and bezel integrated design, the resolution reaches 2240*1260, the screen is clearer, the colors are more vivid, the display of content information is richer, the icons are larger, and the interface information is displayed more clearly. It is also equipped with Anti Reflective coating technology, which not only reduces fingerprint residue, but also reduces blue light, intelligent and more eye protection.
In terms of driver assistance, ID.7 VIZZION has been upgraded to Travel Assist 3.0 on top of 2.0, integrating various driver assistance functions. Drivers can turn on/off the driver assistance function via the shortcut button on the left side of the steering wheel. When the function is turned on, the MFK high-definition camera will always collect the marking lines of the driving lane, and obtain the car’s positional parameter in the current lane through image processing to continuously perform lateral control. At the same time, longitudinal speed control is performed in combination with the ACC controller. When the driver toggles the steering toggle, the system determines whether the surrounding environment is safe and automatically completes the lane change maneuver at the appropriate time.
ID.7 VIZZION also offers the ID.Mate Intelligent AI Assistant, a first-of-its-kind feature for the Volkswagen brand, which not only realizes intelligent recommendations for a wide range of scenarios, but also learns based on the customer’s habits. This intelligent assistant can actively recognize user scenarios and provide vehicle owners with a variety of AI scenarios such as vehicle maintenance management, long-distance travel entertainment program recommendations, holiday care greetings, and other intelligent recommendation modes. The Smart Air hidden intelligent air conditioner in automatic mode can automatically adjust the interior temperature for passengers according to the sunlight, temperature and other conditions, and can also memorize different passenger heights and adjust the direction of air output according to the height of passengers after switching between different passenger accounts.
The large panoramic intelligent light-sensitive canopy above the head is different from the previous sunshade covering method, and adopts the touch control to adjust the canopy. This canopy features multiple coatings for sensitive color change adjustment, greater than 95% haze when the light curtain is on, a low-e coating that improves thermal isolation efficiency by 12% compared to no coating, and UV isolation that achieves a rate of 99%.
In terms of the seat, ID.7 VIZZION adopts a design with a stronger sense of flow, utilizing a stitch pattern and a slightly upturned tumbled fur wrap to give this seat a simple and comfortable look, and the ID.embroidery gives an instant sense of refinement. The entire seat ride is both soft and supportive, and the front and rear are very spacious.
Power and range
The ID.7 VIZZION will be available in two different power forms: single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive. The single motor has a maximum power of 150kW and a maximum torque of 310N-m; the dual motor has a maximum power of 230kW and a maximum torque of 472N-m. In terms of range, the battery has a capacity of 84.8kwh, and the range will exceed 600km.
