Xiaomi
Xiaomi Automobile Co., Ltd., founded in September 2021 in Beijing and led by Lei Jun, is Xiaomi Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary for intelligent electric vehicles. After signing a cooperation agreement with the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area in late 2021, the company began mass production in early 2024 with its first model, the SU7. By April 2024, the 10,000th vehicle had rolled off the line, and store expansion rapidly grew from 87 to over 100 locations by mid-year. Monthly deliveries exceeded 10,000 units in August, surpassed 20,000 by October, and reached a cumulative total of over 160,000 units by February 2025, making Xiaomi Auto the world’s third-largest automaker by market value.
The company also expanded its charging network through a partnership with Azure in December 2024, adding over 14,000 charging piles. Its current mainstream models include the SU7, SU7 Ultra, and YU7. Recognized as a Beijing top-100 innovation project in 2022 and a National Wave Innovation Role Model in 2023, Xiaomi Auto continues to scale production and infrastructure, with the second phase of its project launched in July 2024.
