Functions
When the driver presses the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure is applied to the brake caliper. The caliper then squeezes the brake pads against both sides of the rotating brake disc. The friction generated between the brake pads and the disc slows down or stops the rotation of the wheel, thus achieving the braking effect. Brake discs offer several advantages, such as good heat dissipation, which helps maintain consistent braking performance during repeated or prolonged braking. They also provide more precise braking control and are less prone to brake fade compared to some other braking mechanisms.
